Huh? Does my profile still say I'm in the US? I was in Chicago, but now I'm back in Germany to get ready for the big London adventure. :)

Hey! All u guys seem so excited abt London, it's infectious! Thanks Cathrin for the vote of confidence, I hope ur rite! Em on my way for the pre-departure briefing which my education consultants have organised, hoping to meet more ppl heading out to King's this yr...N probably fix up some alternate accommodation too!

It doesn’t make sense for me to pay the fees in bulk ‘cause I’ll have to start paying interest on the outstanding amount and wat I’ll save in the discount I’ll make up in the EMIs :(. Shit! thats quite a difference in the fee structures between overseas and EU students...no wonder Education is the third largest industry in the UK! ;)

Anyway, Have a great day guys, I’ll let ya know if anyone else from Blore is heading to King’s this yr! see ya :)

    Hey Anisha!
Well, I was in the same boat as yours with regard to accomodation!I dont think you need to worry regarding your accomodation because they sent me a mail stating that they cant guarantee me accomodation, however fortunatley they did give me one!So dont give up hope! On the other hand Id suggest you be on the lookout for other options! I have heard of this residence called Goodenough College! It sounds good, so why dont you try there?
    Hope this helps!
    Cheers!

    Hi Ujjwala

    Welcome. :)

Haven't booked my tickets also. Waiting for my Visa before I book my tickets.

Not sure if you know this but airlines like Jet, British and Virign Atlantic have student fares which range between Rs. 14000 to Rs. 15000 plus taxes. A one way ticket will cost you around Rs. 21, 800/- now including taxes. The airlines are giving some small incentives to the students especially Jet. Students are also allowed an additional 23 kgs extra as baggage allowance.

I'll probably go by British Airways since they'll let me take my guitar as hand baggage which is of prime importance to me. I asked Jet about carrying my guitar as hand baggage and the girl replied "You'll have to book another ticket for your guitar". This was the most ridiculous answer I have ever heard from any airline staff. LOL.

I'm taking a loan for the LLM so I did a lot of research in my free time to find out the pros and cons of the LLM and whether it was worth it. But I've finally decided to go despite all the negative feedback about getting a job after the LLM in UK. That's probably because I'm not that desperate about working in the UK and know I can pay off the loan working in India. :)

@Anisha: Goodenough is a very nice residence. My friend stayed there and he gave positive feedback about it. The room size is really big apparently. For you it definitely doesn't make sense to pay the fees in one lumpsum.

    Hey Prashant!
    Thank you!
I did my homework on the airlines bit too. Am contemplating between Jet and Virgin Atlantic! Jet will be a probabilty though! Thanks bout the info on the loan! Am taking one too. To tell you frankly am more interested in the exposure I will gain at a Global forum like Kings. So I guess its worth it! What do you think?

    Hi Ujjwala

There's not much to choose between airlines if you want the direct flight to London. Not that many options.

You're going for the right reason in my view. I think it will be worth it too especially if one is not going for the LLM just hoping to get a job in a foreign law firm. My purpose is to learn some new stuff in a global environment and to study in a good College. Of course, what I study will also be related to what I've been doing in India. :)
