    Well, keep in mind that back in 1999 a CD walkman was a pretty cool thing! :) Today it's more likely to be a small iPod nano or something... We'll see.

    LOL Cathrin. :)))) Only a new guitar or a new guitar effects unit or music related equipment will be an incentive for me nowadays. The rest of the smaller stuff I already have or will have by the time I reach London. hahaha.

    @ Anisha, don't worry about getting to London after the 15th. First of all I don't think you will, I'm sure the people at King's are aware of the time pressure you're under. But even if you do, all you'll miss is introductions to how to open a bank account, what the Students' Union does, where the university health service is and all that. We'll be able to fill you in on those things. The lectures don't start till the 22nd.

    Hi all

    How will all of you be paying the fees - in installments or a lumpsum payment?
    I happened to see the conditions regarding fee payment. Apparently there is an Early Settlement refund of 2% of total fees to those who make full payment of their tuition fees. For international students this essentially translates as £ 500 discount on our fees. Now that is a substantial amount.
    This website link details it.

    Oh my goodness gracious, how much do you have to pay in fees? For EU students this only translates into 110 Pounds... Now I know why you're all so worried about your big loans! I will go for the discount and pay all of it at once. I am no good at saving money and what's done is done...

    @ Anisha & Aditya

    If you are planning to buy a new laptop, it makes sense that you buy one from UK, so that you wouldn't have any problems with warranty'n all. I heard its cheaper there too.
    If you have zeroed in on what model you want then you can even explore the option of purchasing it from Amazon. You get some really good deals there.

    @Cathrin

    For international students the fees come to a whooping £ 12,500. A 2% discount thus means the fees r reduced to £ 12,000.A substantial amount I would say

    For Home/EU undergraduate students, fees will not be eligible for early settlement refund. Hopefully they wouldnt apply the same for posrgraduate students.Not to sure off that, u better check it out

    Liza Mary,
    that's true, I didn't see that before! I'll wait till we get the first invoice, I'm sure that'll say if there's a discount for EU students. Otherwise I'll ask someone.
