    Hi Liza

I sent them a scanned copy of the acceptance by email and also sent them a hard copy by courier. They replied to my email and said that the email was sufficient for them and if the hard copy did not reach them by July 18, 2008, not to worry. So maybe you can just email them first and find out if they require the hard copy. You can also fax it to them.

The residences contact info is given here:

    Hi Everyone

If you want to get some feedback on the accommodation at KCL, check out this site:

    http://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/

It's got some useful reviews by students who've actually lived in the residences. :)

    Cheers

    Hi everyone,

My name is Vladimir and I'm from Sofia, Bulgaria. I'm glad to join the group and looking forward to meeting all of you in September!

Special thanks to those of you that have been actively contributing to this thread! There has been some really useful information!

So, since the "hot topic" lately has been accommodation - I have just received my offer - Connaught hall (one of the intercollegiate residences). Honestly, I'm not very happy about it - and most probably I'll refuse it. It has a very good location but I was really looking for a residence that is self-catered. And moreover, it's predominantly undergraduate occupancy.

Anyway, refusing the Connaught offer will substantially diminish my chances of obtaining university accommodation, so I'll consider the private sector option. Is there anyone else who might have any interest of forming a little flat-share group?

Hi Vladimir, welcome to our little group! :)

I have only just accepted King's unconditional offer and might not be able to get a place in one of the halls as everyone else seems to have been allocated by now... So if King's can't offer me anything I'll get back to you!

    Hi Cathrin

Have you applied online for the accommodation? I suggest you at least apply for it. You might get lucky and be allocated a place in the 2nd round of decisions. I suppose a number of persons who have been given accommodation may refuse (like Vladimir) and opt for private residence. Plus they do give priority to international students.

In any case if you share private accommodation with others, the cost might work out the same as staying in one of the KCL residences.

    All the best.

    Hi Prashant -

thanks for your message! Yes, I have applied for accommodation, I was able to do that when I firmly accepted my then conditional offer. But they won't process my application until they received my proper acceptance letter, which I posted yesterday. As I'm in the United States right now that might take a few days... So I don't know how many places will be left. However, it seems that Hampstead isn't a popular choice (whereas it's my 1st), so I might be lucky... We will see.

    Talk soon, Cat.

    Hi Cat

I suppose the 2nd round of decisions will take place sometime in July end/ August beginning, so you still have hope. :)

Hampstead is far away from the Strand campus that's why it isn't a popular place for the LLM students. If you're willing to travel a long distance to the Strand campus then it'll be good for you. Friends of mine who lived near Hampstead said that it is a nice place.

I have lived in Highgate before (next to Hampstead) and it was lovely. The commute to my university then was about 30-40 mins and it wasn't bad at all. Besides, we had George Michael as a neighbour and we also saw Brad Pitt walking down the street once... That's why I chose Hampstead: even though I love London it's so nice to get away from the hustle and bustle and noise and dirt in the city at night and on the weekends... But maybe I'm the only one who thinks so and there's lots of free places left on Hampstead Campus. I kinda hope so. :)

LOL. All the best Cat. Since you've lived in that area maybe you'll be okay with it. I'd rather stay closer to campus. I like hustle and bustle though not the noise and dirt. :))))

I want Hampstead!!! :) Cat made a fabulous promo for it, by mentioning Brad Pitt, don't laugh at me it is my lifelong weakness :)
They told me that I can apply for accommodation only in mid-September and will probably have very little choices :((. Cat could you tell me if it is self-catered and how much is it worth?
Cheers everyone at this very hot and busy season :)
