Jul 31 2008, 07:10 AMCheers everyone,
Mrinalini: I received a letter from the accomodation office, that they will be offering me a place starting from mid-september ( well my case is that i am a part-time student) thus this term might apply to you too.
I changed my mind with regards to coming to London end of august. Decided to head of beginning of september, and be there around 8th. Prash, do you think it's late? when do our orientation days take place?

Congrats on the accommodation. So where have they offered you a place?
I think 8th September is just fine. The orientation is between 10th and 12th September. I'll reach London on 9th September. I still haven't applied for my Visa, plan to do so it in the next 4-5 days. Hopefully that won't delay things for me.
@Mrinalini: Maybe you'll get lucky since you're an international student and they get priority over the others.

Aug 01 2008, 09:03 PMHi everyone
I got an email today from KCL stating that we have to make a provisional module selection. One gets an opportunity to amend the module choice after the first week of term following the enrolment.
I suppose everyone else has also received that email but just thought I'd let people know in case some of you are not checking your email regularly. :) The link to the tracker is given below for convenience:
http://www.kcl.ac.uk/depsta/law/applications/students/grad/t...
I've chosen the modules given below:
20 credits, Legal Skills Course (compulsory module)
20 credits, 7,500-word research essay
40 credits, Law Of International Finance I
20 credits, Law Of International Finance II - International Project Finance
20 credits, Law Of International Finance III - Securitisations, GDOs And GDRs
20 credits, Legal Issues In Corporate Finance
20 credits, Regulation Of The Conduct Of Mergers and Acquisitions
20 credits, Technology and Intellectual Property Law
Hopefully some of you would be taking up the modules I've chosen and we'll be in the same class. :)))
Cheers
Prashant

Aug 03 2008, 06:09 AMHi Liza
I see that we'll be in two classes together. Great.
Even I was wondering how to choose the topic for the research essay. What I know is that the topic has to be chosen by January 2009 and has to be submitted by September 2009. I've been advised by some students who've done their LLM that the topic should be chosen well in advance so that you can start working on it well before the deadline.

Aug 07 2008, 03:04 PMHello to everyone!
I think I'll go for the International Competition Law specialization - anyone else?
About accommodation - I've recently received an email from KCL informing me that I was put on the waiting list but anyway - chances are small of getting anything so may be if there are any of you in a similar position we could form a flat-share group. There are some really good options in the private sector.
@ Elnur and Mrinalini - still interested in forming a flat-share group?
I hope everyone is doing great and I am looking forward to meeting all of you next month! ;-)
Best,
Vlad

Aug 08 2008, 02:18 AMHello everyone... I am Aditya Sanghi from India, Chd. new to this community.. thnx to Liza.... well i am also sailing on the same boat with all u guys.. coming to king's this sep for LLM... hey Prashant i went through all the threads of urs. simply amazing.. now i realize; how experience plays a vital role.thnx for providing all this important info.. trust me it cleared most of my doubts.. Prashant u are very senior to me so i will also join with others to bother u with silly questions.. so bear with me too....
People I am on stage 5, chose my modules.. got my visa.. just waiting for the accomm confirmation which i guess i wont receive for another 2-3 weeks.. i spoke to king;s accomm office on phone and they said that places are less and application are far more so chances of getting accomm are dim. i applied well b4 30th june.. but i have decided to move to some pvt. rented accomm.
any one else also looking for pvt. accomm.. let me know .. we can tie up accordingly.

Aug 08 2008, 05:35 AMHi Aditya
Welcome. Just ask me whatever you want and I'll try and answer whatever queries I can. :)
I'm surprised they are taking so much time to inform you about the accommodation especially since you applied before June 30, 2008. Your application should have been considered in the first round. In fact you should get priority as international students who have not lived in Uk before are supposed to get priority. I still haven't applied for my Visa. Will do so next week. Hopefully they'll issue the Visa in time for me to reach London on September 9, 2008. What modules have you chosen?
Cheers
Prashant
