Aug 19 2008, 09:59 PMHey, do we know yet HOW we have to pay the booking fee / deposit or whatever it is we have to pay along with signing the contract? Can we use credit cards?
I got the same email as you, Liza, I hope the hard copy follows soon so that there's enough time to pay, sign and send everything back...

Aug 19 2008, 10:23 PM@ Liza: Someone wants to swap King's College Hall for Hampstead:
http://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/showthread.php?t=652760
I remember you didn't really want Hampstead... But I don't know if KCH is any better. Besides, I don't really want you to swap, then I'd be in Hampstead by myself! :( So I guess it would be best if you just ignored this offer! :)

The residence pack will hopefully have all details on the mode of payment and amount for the intial deposit. Since it is coming by snail mail, I am a wee bit concerned.................
Change of heart.......................I am happy with Hampstead nw, no plans to swap.[Edited Aug 20 2008]

Aug 20 2008, 07:50 AM@Aditya: Don't depend on the Indian postal department. Send your stuff by DHL even if it costs much more. At least delivery is guaranteed if you use DHL and within the timeline they give you. They have a student discount and they also have a priority shipment, which you can use if you are very short of time. I also send the college a scanned copy of whatever hard copy documents/ letters I send them. At least they know that I've sent them the signed documents.
Considering the amount of money we all are paying the least the college can do is send important documents by courier especially if the deadlines for submitting the signed documents are so thin.

Aug 20 2008, 10:34 AM@Prashant.. well i will certainly use ur advice and will send all my docs. thorugh dhl.. but the prob is the College people don't send it through dhl, they use ordinary mail to send the same. therefore i was saying that all depends on postal department now.. hope i receive the same on time.
