Jun 14 2009, 12:51 PMHey everyone..I don't care if the accommodation is noisy or anything.I just hope its clean and that i wont have to share the bathroom with too many people ...:( :(
Do any of you know how many people share a room.I was under the impression that it would be with just another person.
Ive decided to book my tickets for the tenth of Sept.

Jun 14 2009, 01:29 PMHi sharika! I've read that usually you don't have to share a room, except for 1st year undergraduates or in exceptional case! Most of the accommodations are single rooms, in some places with private bathroom (e.g. Stamford St. or Gread Dover, my first choiches in the application)! Otherwise, I've also read that the shared bathroom is not a problem, don't know exactly how many per bathroom, but I think there wouldn't be any problem!

Jun 14 2009, 03:43 PMhey klara n varsha...
just chkd out the above links... it says v have to register for the orientation for the said dates.....further it it a;lso states that for the orientation i.e. 16th -19th accomodation will have to be applied for n paid for separately.. pls c the following info:
".........Please note that accommodation is not included in the Orientation programme and needs to be applied for separately.
Subject to availability, King’s College accommodation is available for the Orientation to students who will be living in a King’s Residence during the semester; if you are allocated a place at one of the Intercollegiate or Liberty Living residences, you may also enquire about early arrival.
The King’s Accommodation Services will begin to notify students who have applied for semester-time accommodation of their room allocations from mid-July (graduate applicants) or mid-August (undergraduate applicants). Once you know which Residence you will be living in, you should contact the relevant Residence Office directly to enquire about accommodation from 16th-18th September. Contact details are listed in the Residence Pack, which you will receive from the King’s Accommodation Services with your allocation, or on the King’s Accommodation Services website.
Accommodation during the Orientation will be charged at the pro-rata nightly rate of your semester-time rent and should be paid for on arrival.
For students who will not be living in a King’s, Intercollegiate or Liberty Residence during the semester, and who do not have other accommodation arranged for 16th-18th September, there is a variety of privately owned hotels, guest houses and hotels available in London. To receive a list of hostels in London, please email [email protected]"

Any idea when do we get to know on the accomodation status from the college??
I got a rejection on funding and so am a lil worried whether getting accomodation is also equally difficult.

Jun 19 2009, 07:08 PMHi! Shewta,
I had called them last month regarding accomodation allocation and they gave me a very indefinite answer saying that perhaps somewhere in June - July they would let the candidates know. I havent since then followed up with them...
I am also clueless on the mode of payment of tution fees. I havent found any direct swift code or account information for the payment of the tution fees on their website....Any idea on the same.
Great to get in touch with you.
Cheers

Jun 19 2009, 11:34 PMHey Shweta, Yes, I think 10 to 13th would be a good time to arrive. Although I would prefer to arrive to a college residence and they probably won't take us by then (I mean before the 19th).
Earlier today I received my visa letter and it recommends that we get there 30 days before the start of the program for induction, enrolment, etc. Maybe It's just to give us some freedom with the time.
I'm also worried about the payment, I have a scholarship and they´re supposed to pay for the tuiton fees, but in order for them to do that I would need to send them the invoice in advance. Problem is that apparently they present the invoice directly to you immediatley after enrolment (14 to 19th).
Thanks for the advice, If anyone knows anything please do not hesitate.
