Jun 10 2009, 05:41 AMhey sharika... as regards the term dates they begin on 28th September... thats wat is written on the hard copy of my offer letter..... further as regards the uni accomodation....staying thr for a few months is possible though u have to sign a 40 week contract in most of the places... however, in case u wanna leave the place u ought to gv the accomodation office a month's notice.... but am not sure how u go abt the payment aspect as in if u get the amount reimbursed.... if its a quaterly payment system then u only need to pay for 3 months and stay accordingly....hope this info helps u ... in case u get any further info pls do let me know too...

So if the semester is starting in Sept why is everyone getting there by the end of August??Also if your getting there so early where will you stay?do you all have friends and family there?Or will the university give us accommodation so early?

Jun 11 2009, 05:45 AMhey sharika.........i guess the orientation for the intl students is on 16th ,17th and the 18th. you have to contact the accommodation office if you want to move in before the orientation but you will be charged a certain amount and i think it has to be paid for on arrival.

where did you find out that the orientation is from 16th-18t? At the term dates section it says that registration starts on 21st and that King's accomodation is available from 19th. I couldn't find any information about orientation. I find it curious that orientation is before registration and everything...
@sharika: As for me, I'll apply for accomodation offered by King's sometime til June 30. And afterwards it all depends on whether I get a place (btw: i was delighted and relieved to read your post at llm-guide about you hearing IPR profs at KCL are excellent, because I too didn't know whether to decide for UCL or KCL. In the end, reading about all the profs, I chose KCL. Hope I made the right choice :-)
Oh, one other q: what are U applying for in terms of King's accommodation? I've only heard that Stamford is OK, but it can be quite noisy there.
