Aug 05 2009, 12:16 PMHey Sujata.. one of the professors had come to Delhi, hosted by this agency called The Chopras..and he was taking some of our credentials, and certificates, and informally giving us an idea of our chances. Based on the personal interview and grades listing, also IELTS scores, he made informal conditional and unconditional offers, and later the professors meet at King's must have also vetted our credentials and his informal offer-choices before it became formal, and sent us the offer. Thats what I was given to understand of the process. I think this happened only to select cities, maybe just Delhi, for all I know.

Aug 05 2009, 12:19 PMAnd of course, the above happened only a couple of months after us submitting our applications. I dont think anyone was notified in advance that we could have an opportunity to meet one of the faculty.

Aug 05 2009, 12:35 PMInteresting!!!! I didnt know that they also have something like this where a Prof comes and interviews you. Must be nice to meet somebody from the school where one intends to apply.
Honestly, speaking I was little put off when I saw while applying online that Kings have a column for agents though whom one can apply coz most of the very good colleges such as Oxford, Cambridge, LSE and perhaps UCL too dont have anything to do with agents. Was wondering why does Kings needs agents .......when its a college of very good reputation, ranks amongst the top 5 in UK for LLM and therefore should never have any dearth of applications.....Strange!!!!!

Aug 05 2009, 01:15 PM@Sujata: Hmm...agreed!! UCL also works through agents, though.Well, it is a fact that Education has always been a lucrative business, and I guess KCL thought it wise not to shy away from promoting its courses to its own gains without hopefully, compromising on its quality and caliber.
@Harjean: I think its the same problem here :( ...Will definitely keep you posted!
