    Thanx, Prashanth
Your blog is really helpful to those who wants to study LLM abroad. Its a fact that one shall not go to UK to do LLM on Job perspective. I feel QLTT is best suited for Indian Lawyers who has got 2 years practice experience. After completion of QLTT, one can practice law in India and UK.

kindly be informed that from sept'2008 any common wealth jurisdiction lawyer wishing to acquire certificate of eligibility from SRA, should positively be aware that now, from the two years that is the minimum stipulated exp. bar has been changed, now of those two yrs. of work exp. one year must be exclusively be under a SRA regulated law firm of under a solicitor having above three practising years certificate.

In other words, kindly presume this inverse route to become a Qualified solicitor of England & Wales as more or less closed, if not closed then almost improbably daunting for any Indian lawyer to acquire such a work exp. ( under normal circumstances , A lot has been left open to discretionary jurisdiction of SRA).
So, now QLTT route is as good as non existent for Indian lawyers. For further detailed information kindly refer to SRA website or alternatively you may allow me your queries.

    Hi

Supreet is correct. The QLTT route has become much tougher now especially with the present market situation in UK.

The other point I want to make is that doing the QLTT does not get you a job. In fact most of the law firms in UK would probably hire you without the QLTT, if they did hire you. Of course, you'd have to take the QLTT subsequently or complete your Training Contract. In addition it's not cheap and therefore it makes more sense to take the QLTT after getting a job with a UK law firm, which in the present crisis seems practically impossible.

    Cheers

    Hi Dipen

From what I've heard, Queen Mary is supposed to be really good for IPR in UK. King's also has a good faculty apparently.
