I've accepted the offer through email. But there's been no response from KCL to my mails for quite some time. I guess they're really busy with the applications and other formalities. Plus last week was a bank holiday week over there.

They probably need to update the information for the accepted students.

Bhargav, where are you working right now?

    Hi Prashant

What is the status of your online tracker?

You have to send them a hard copy of your acceptance. Acceptance thru email is not enuf. Once the college gets your acceptance they will update the tracker.Only then will you get access to the accomodation application

    Thanks Liza for the info.

I got my unconditional offer email earlier today. The online tracker status has changed to Stage 4. Will probably receive the hard copy unconditional offer in a few days. I'll send them the hard copy of the acceptance and then apply for the accommodation. There's still time so I'm not worried. :)

M presently working in Gujarat Highcourt with a seniour advocate. My work profile is majorly criminal.
So have anyone of u decided on the modules that u are going to go for. How do we select. I hope there is a induction before we are made to select.

    Hi Bhargav

I did some criminal cases in my litigation days, nothing too major though. Definitely not like what you'll be doing with a Senior Advocate. Haven't appeared in Court for many years now though I've advised clients' on litigation related issues since I did 4 years of litigation in the initial days of my career. :) Have been doing corporate law for the last 6 years in law firms and MNCs.

I've already decided on the modules but will probably take a final decision after a discussion with the Professors/ College persons. I'm basically opting for the LLM in International Finance. The modules I'm interested in are Law of International Finance I, II and III, Regulation of the conduct of M&A and Legal Issues in Corporate Finance.

A friend of mine who took some of the above modules at KCL a few years back said the professors namely Prof. Ravi Tennekoon and Dr. Tunde Ogowewo were very good for those modules.

As far as I know there is a induction sometime around September 10-12, 2008. Plus they'll have shorter induction sessions after that. The provisional semester dates mentioned in the unconditional offer notes are September 22, 2008 to December 12, 2008, January 12, 2009 to March 27, 2009 and April 27, 2009 to June 12, 2009.

    Hey Prashant

You seem to be quite experienced having put in so much of time in Litigation and service. I just enrolled at the bar last year. So m a newbea compared to you.

I still have to finalise on the modules. Lets see i will recieve my unconditional offer in a few days time. Things would be much clear till then. Plus have to apply for loan as well.

    Hi Bhargav

Think carefully about a loan. I was also planning to take a loan but have dropped the idea because the rate of interest is 13% per annum and suitable collateral has to be given. Now I'm looking at other options to finance the LLM.

What is your plan? Do you want to come back to India or work in the UK after the LLM?

I made a blog on llm-guide.com for the Indian students. It's been written after extensive research. Have a look at it before you take any decisions on a huge loan. The link is given below:

    Hi Prashant,

I read your blog and it was really informative.

About the job prospects in UK after an LLM you mentioned about opportunities in law firms.

I am not interested in working in a law firm, so what are the other career options for me in UK after an LLM?

    Liza
