Accomodation

    Has anyone got any experience of looking for accommodation privately in London? I've been accepted onto the UCL LLM and I'm from Dublin. Have no idea where to go looking for accommodation

    Hey Guys,

    I have been accepted for the UCL LLM for 2008/2009 as well.

    UCL sent this accommodation booklet (the same one available in PDF format online) through the mail with all the prices of the Halls of Residence and Student Houses.

    However I noticed that the information is meagre and there are no pictures accompanying the description of the halls of residence or student houses. From the search that I did online, it seems that the most amount of information is availble for intercollegiate halls. In fact, all of these halls have Virtual Tours of the Study Bedrooms and dining areas.

    A caveat- From what I know, the intercollegiate halls can be pretty anal about many things. You might have Data Cap for usage of the internet. And they are pretty strict about letting any visitors stay over (for international students who might want to accommdate their visitors, this might be a problem)

    I called up the UCL student residences office was advised that I was offered a place at Ifor Evans Hall. Anyone else headed to this hall?

    Was this your first choice? I wonder why I didn't get into my preferred halls, considering that I submitted my application way back in April.

    though not the first choice... its the type of accomodation i asked for... except that it is 145 pounds per week :)
