Jun 05 2008, 06:47 AMThanks for the post, Andres. The info previously posted on the UCL LLM site was that registration, orientation and welcome parties will take place beginning only on Sept. 22. In fact, it still indicates this date. See http://www.ucl.ac.uk/laws/prospective/llm/index.shtml?term_d.... But it would be a pity to miss the ISOP, so I will change my travel plans accordingly, as I was planning to arrive in London only on Sept. 19.[Edited Jun 05 2008]

Jun 16 2008, 01:49 PMI asked the Student Residences Office if it would be possible to move in by 15 Sept. in time for the ISOP. They replied that this is possible, but there will be an extra charge for an "early arrival." Strange that 15 Sept. would be considered an early arrival considering that the ISOP is an official school activity which all incoming students should be able to attend.

Jun 16 2008, 03:57 PMHey everyone, I am also going to UCL (been offered a place for the LLM specialising in Human Rights/International Law)
would be grateful for advice on the following:
do you think it's best to do the course full time (by taking out a loan as UK student so tricky to get a bursury) or do it part time and work to finance the studies (i'm a solicitor at the moment).
Also, i'm starting to get panicky re reputation of UCL for Human Rights (which are the modules I want to take) eg has it got a good reputation for this -
My ambtion is to head to the OHCHR at the UN with this masters so any advice/reassurance re reputation and FT/PT would be very very much appreciated!!
ps i am panicking becos this LLM is a bug personal investment (time/money) for me - so I want to get it right!
Thanks and best of luck to everyone!!
Maybe see you in Sept.
Amanda.
