A bit of my background, I completed my law degree from NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad, India in 2005 and worked with a variety of organizations after that, currently working in a law firm based in Bangalore. Nithya (also on this group) is my classmate from NALSAR, Hi Nithya!

good to hear from you. It's about time we get some communication started amongst the members of the LL.M. class of 2009. It would be great to hear from everyone .. get some info on your backgrounds etc.
I'm right now finishing up my law degree in Cologne, Germany, and working part-time at Freshfields in Düsseldorf. I'm interested in intellectual property law and alternative dispute resolution. I'm much looking forward to meeting everyone in L.A. and I'm sure we're gonna have a great time over there..

Great to hear from you and learn about ur background. So when are you landing in California and have you made any arrangements for your acco? Any idea if anyone has heard on campus housing decisions...hmm wonder when will they inform us.

I'm gonna be arriving in Cali on July 28th and I'll be staying with a friend until I've found a place to stay; I've also applied for housing, I think it said somewhere on the website that they would get back to us in June with their decision, but I'm not sure. I also don't know whether I wanna go for university housing or whether I'd even turn down a potential offer and look for housing off-campus instead. Probably depends on which type of housing arrangement I'd be offered.
How about you? When are you heading to L.A.? Have you been there before?
Btw, do you know anyone else who will be joining UCLA as an LL.M. student this year? I'm a little surprised that people don't really show up in this group or on Facebook (if you're there, join my group "UCLA Law LL.M. Class of 2009"), or on LLM-Guide.

Hmm...about the univ decision about housing, for some reason I am not very hopeful about it...donno why. I think finding flatmates is equally imp, while one is looking for housing outside campus, 'cause cost-sharing will be a definite issue...lemme know what you think about that...I wil inform you about any good housing outside campus (if u interested) when i find something ...
My guess is that people who ve joined the group might be busy or distracted with other things, am pretty sure more people will start writing in soon enough..btw, I am not on Facebook as of now, but i guess will join soon enough :)

About me, im from Cyprus (the little island in the Mediterranean!), i finished my LLB at LSE last year, now doing the LPC in London to qualify as a solicitor in the UK and i have a training contract waiting for me after the LLM with Allen & Overy. Im probably choosing one of the business tracks specialisations..not sure which yet.
Im also looking for accomodation, but would like to meet someone who would be interested to share. I hope more people will start joining the group!

As for shared apartments, I'm not sure yet whether I wanna go for a shared apartment or rather live in a single apartment. I guess it'll all get decided once I'm in L.A., don't think I'll try to find something from over here .. when are you gonna be arriving in L.A.?
And btw, are you also on Facebook? Then let's connect there .. at least for my part, I use it much more frequently than lawyrs.net :-)
