| More about me | Jurismart is a brand of resume writing and professional coaching services in the field of law provided by Linda Tancs for law students, attorneys, paralegals and pre-law college students. Linda also provides dispute resolution services in the nature of mediation. View a list of services at www.jurismart.com. Coaching is a vehicle for learning and change. Through her coaching training and her experience in the legal field, Linda brings the skills needed to fulfill the various roles that a coach can play in a client engagement. Depending on the circumstances, a coach may facilitate (as in advancing a client's agenda), inquire (in relation to challenging beliefs), or transmit skills and information (when coaching for skills). Some of the benefits of coaching Linda has observed include increased confidence, taking action on desired goals and the development of new and effective habits of thinking and acting. Linda’s international coaching practice addresses issues such as career management and transition, workplace issues, work/life balance, time management and entrepreneurial challenges for solo practitioners. She also works with management teams in facilitating organizational coaching engagements. Her credentials include coaching training at New York University’s Center for Leadership and Human Capital Management. Linda brings to coaching over 20 years of knowledge and expertise in the issues affecting legal professionals. An honors graduate of Seton Hall University School of Law, Linda is licensed to practice law in New York and New Jersey and is qualified to practice in England and Wales. She is included in various editions of Who’s Who in American Law, Who’s Who of American Women and Who’s Who in the East. Her career has run the gamut from paralegal to partner. She has a wide range of experience from both corporate and private practice in matters such as contracts, litigation, advertising, intellectual property, internet law, licensing, employment law and corporate governance. Given the demands of legal practice, her coaching skills are particularly helpful for those dealing with issues such as time management and work/life balance. In addition to her membership in the International Coach Federation, she is an active member of the National Resume Writers' Association and produces resumes, cover letters and other marketing tools for clients. An accomplished writer, samples of Linda's cover letters are in the third edition of Cover Letters for Dummies. Linda has also served in leadership positions in bar associations, taught legal courses at two colleges and authored several articles for legal periodicals, book publishers and general interest magazines. In addition to her coaching practice, Ms. Tancs is a business branding strategist and operator of a venture that includes merchandising, blogging and podcasting. |
