Regarded as a strong practitioner and incisive adviser by impressed sources he has a reputation for commercial acumen and offering cost effective commercial solutions that minimise risks and help project teams meet their completion dates and budgets. Barry is experienced in prosecuting and defending all types of construction claims particularly complex high value construction disputes which include 13 reported judgments. Barry has advised on many high profile and iconic projects including the Aquatics Centre at the London 2012 Olympics, City of London Lloyd’s Building and some of the world’s best-known public attractions such as the London Eye and the Sydney Tower. He has acted as a panel judge for the Constructing Excellence Awards and often speaks at industry conferences in both the UK and abroad, Including Oxford University and Chatham House. He has been recommended as a construction lawyer by the legal directories for many years most recently in the 2019 edition of the Legal 500.
