Apr 30 2010, 01:10 AMAt times I'm actually starting to think that it would be better to have accomodation further along the piccadilly line but not exactly in the Bloomsbury area. A 15 / 20 mins tube ride should not be a big deal if the place of accomodation would be situated close to the tube. Prices are obviously cheaper in these areas...

May 02 2010, 06:29 AMHie Guys.. I am from India and I would also be coming to UCL in September this year. I havnt yet applied for accommodation. I am looking for an accommodation in UCL student houses ,halls of residence, intercollegiate halls Guys can you please guide me on how to go about it and which would be best suited to my interests and budget. Proximity to the university is my first and foremost concern, self catered, a computer point, my budget being 90-100 pounds and i dont have any issue in sharing the room but if in case i can get a single room in the above stated budget then it would be great. When should I apply for the accommodation? What all can I get in the budget stated above.
Thanks & Regards

May 03 2010, 08:11 PMYou should apply as soon as possible. Don’t waste much time looking over the halls or student residence because on UCL’s application form you can’t state any preference. So the only thing you’d be able to point out on the form is the most important factors for you (such as proximity, en-suite, price – a minimum and a maximum you can pay, single or double room and things like that). If you’ve got that much figured out already, then apply so that you don’t miss out the deadline, especially considering you’re from India and therefore you fit the “offer guarantee” requirements (i.e., if you apply for single accommodation within the deadline, they will surely make you an offer).

Thanks & Regards

May 05 2010, 12:05 AMAbout the price, I really haven't got a clue. Sorry! What I do know is that you'll have to fill it in and send it out by post. They won't accept a scanned copy...

I am also brazilian and I will join you at UCL (hopefully).
I intend to apply for the UCL accomodation, although it is always good to keep others options in mind, especially affordable ones....

May 21 2010, 03:16 AMHi Crew,
I have been looking into options other than uni halls accommodation. There are quite a few private providers for uni students and are somewhat reasonably priced. Private apartments are more expensive than halls, however also much more modern and 'comfortable'. Depends on what you are after I suppose and ones finances.
