    Has everyone already secured a place to stay? I'm not too keen on the halls of residence so i'm looking to rent off campus. What about you guys?

    Yeah, I also would like to rent a flat. How much are you ready to pay for a flat? Have you any ideas about prices, location etc?

    Living off site is the usual way really, and London has a particularly high turn-over of properties so you're going to find a place easily enough. I'm not from London but I've got a few friends there, and on average you're probably looking at around £100-110 a week including bills (obviously depending on where you live). That should get you a decent enough place really.

    I agree Matthew, I'd even go as high as 140 a week but that’s really my limit. I have a friend who is now finishing up his LLM at UCL who is willing to help me find a flat. Unfortunately there are so many scams running on Gumtree and Craigslist that I'm very wary of potential "landlords." Four of them so far have asked me to wire money before even seeing the apartments (which I'm sure don't exist).

    Hi, is anyone from EU? I underdstood that my chances to be provided with UCL accommodation are rather low, so I am also looking for private housing. I prefere to share a house/flat. Any ideas where I should search for it? Thanks.

    Paulo, I haven't gotten my visa letter either, but i wouldn't worry too much, its still really early.

    Lucia, here are some of the sites I’ve been checking for accommodation
    1. http://housing.london.ac.uk/cms/search.html (most secure one I’ve found so far. No scam artists yet!)
    2. http://www.findaproperty.com/
    3. http://www.spareroom.co.uk/
    4. http://www.intolondon.com/
    5. http://www.gumtree.com/
    Be careful with the last four; I’ve found people asking me to wire money there.
