Legal skills aims to teach you how to write legal essays and other documents of a legal nature, on the use o appropriate terminology and on how legal research can be accomplished (sources of information, referencing, etc...)

    Hello All
Fortunately I met the english requirements to study LLM at KCL as it was the sole condition. My problem emerges as I have some doubts about the different types of modules offered to study. There is one thing that I have clear which is that I want to specialize in either Commercial Law or Competition Law. Since I began my last year at the university I have been focused on commercial law as it was my favorite subject. However, bearing in mind the current employment situation it is a though decision to decide what specialization is the most feasible. As far as I know Competition Law is a very demanded subject that is why the number of students who study this particular subject have increased significantly. The question I raise is whether students must based their decisions on future employment expectations rather than their own preferences. In my case, as mentioned above, Commercial Law is by far my favorite subject although I'm not sure whether it has sufficient demand when it comes to develop your careers opportunities not only in the UK but in the rest of the globe.
It would be fantastic if someone could give some advices regarding this issue
    Best regards.

Hi Javier, First of all congratulations to you for making it to KCL. Welcome aboard. I can understand your confusion. However, I feel that one should do what he is good at and interests him. Rather than looking at which area of law is gaining popularity, I think we should look at legal market in general. Its becoming more professional and competitive. Thus, it demands specialized lawyers in all the sectors. Hence, more specialized and focused you are in any particular field the more would be your demand.
