    Hi Abhinav

If you want to know the job scene in the UK, please check out my blog on www.llm-guide.com. The link is given below. I've done extensive research on the job scene in UK and have spoken to a number of law firms/ recruitment consultants in UK and also people who have done their LLM from LSE and KCL. Hope the blog helps to give you the picture as it stands today in the UK.

I personally feel that there's not much difference between UCL and KCL. But a number of people on llm-guide.com have said that UCL is better brand wise. It's more a question of what subjects you want to study and which College gives you that choice. KCL has excellent teachers for the subjects I want to study choices which are Law of International Finance I, II and III; Regulation and conduct of M&A; Legal issues in Corporate Finance; A friend of mine who studied under the same teachers said that they were really good.

All the best with the decision. It's not easy choosing between KCL and UCL.

I recommend Prashants blog to anyone (not only Indians) heading to the UK! In the comment section, there are some interesting posts as well.

Prashant, will you continue the blog when you arrive in the UK? Maybe you will become as famous as tmalmine from Yale...

    Thanks Arun.

Yes, I do plan to blog from the UK. Especially while I'm studying at KCL. Not sure how frequently I'll write though. LOL@becoming famous. Not my intention to be famous, but if my blogs can help someone take the right decision, it's worth it for me.

Actually what's really missing is detailed feedback from a current student in the UK who is doing the LLM and the advantages, disadvantages, problems/ difficulties of the LLM. I wish someone would write a detailed blog about their experiences with the LLM. I plan to make a semester wise blog during my LLM and provide feedback to prospective students.

    Hi Abhinav

All the best for UCL. Keep in touch. Will try and catch up in London. Lots of people have said UCL is better than KCL. I guess it's all subjective. I'm going to KCL in Sept.

What kind of feedback did you get from your seniors?

    Cheers

    Hi Prashant,

Thanks. All the people whom I talked to some pass outs of my college and some from NLS were of the opinion that UCL and KCL are to quite an extent the same. However, they also said that UCL was in their opinion slightly advantageous with reference to the reputation and job prospects. As that was my primary concern. Though they all had clearly said that both are on the same footing with respect to the academic standards. So I decided on UCL.

    Sure keep in touch.

    Cheers!!

    Hi Abhinav

From what I've heard after talking to law firm owners and other senior advocates in India, KCL is more well known in India than UCL. Probably UCL is more known in UK. I personally think that UCL and KCL would be at par and there wouldn't be much difference.

Ultimately it will all boil down to how well you do in the LLM. For instance being in the top 5% of your class at UCL or KCL will definitely be better than being in the middle of the class at Oxford, Cambridge and LSE.

Keep in touch. Will catch up in UK.
