    HI everyone,

congrats on your acceptance to Duke! I've accepted mine and am looking forward to meeting all of you in August. Was wondering if any of you have looked at any housing options? Would be great to discuss here, as I assume most of us have no idea what to expect..Lets get this group running! ;)

Hi Dian! People told me The Belmont was a great place, where a lot of LLM students live. I think I'm going to look for a flat over there. good luck!

    Hi Marie!

Yup I've heard of that as well...I'm considering Lofts at Lakeview and Belmont..both of which are great but the former is slightly more expensive..My first choice will be Belmont though. Have you contacted the management for application yet? I heard the application formalities can be quite complicated. Good luck to u too!

Hi I am currently living in durham, so i may give some help for the housing.
I live in Alexan farm till May, which, I think, is a good place for students with family.
I heard there will be Blue devil week in spring and can get good deals for housing.
Last year, I contacted Lofts but the application procedure was complicated and the room rate
was the highest in this area but the most luxurious one!!
If there is anything that I can answer, pls let me know. :)

    Hi guys,

I contacted one of the alumni and she said that April would be a good time to start applying. Although she did say that if you want to live at the Lofts then you should apply before April.

Myungjin: Fantastic, thanks! I heard that if you live in Alexan farms you need to get a car..is that true? I dont plan to drive, so I suppose Belmont or Lofts would be the best options although hey are quite on the expensive side I must say! when do you recommend we start applying for accomodation? Any particular place you'd recommend? What are the formalities/procedures like?

    Many thanks,

    Dian

Yes, Dian, April the aulmni mentioned would be that blue devil week. That time is the best time to get good deals, I heard. As my contract with Alexan farms will end in May, I will look for some places and the prices from now on and start deal from March. As I contracted this place last summer, I didn't get such good deals -.- Yes, I do have a car. Without cars, Belmont or Loft will be the best setting. There is not much complicated procedure except Loft, just contact the leasing office and ask availability. :)

    Hi Myungjin,

I am interested in alexan farms, and I would like to know why you have chosen to move out instead of continuing the rent. Is it because of the price, or any other reason?
