Two cases represent conflicting approaches to the enforcement of non-debtor releases in foreign plans of reorganization under Chapter 15 of the Bankruptcy Code. In re Vitro, S.A.B. de C.V., 701 F.3d 1031 (5th Cir. 2012) applied a strict approach to a Mexican plan, and In re Sino-Forest Corp., 501 B.R. 655 (Bankr. S.D.N.Y. 2013) applied a more flexible approach to a Canadian plan.
