The Thought of Her is Blake Bailey’s third novel. It is an adventure story laced with insight into the lives and experiences of divergent characters whose lives merge into a culmination at the end of the tale. The protagonist is a young woman living the life of a “trust fund baby”.She has the spirit and heart to live a lifeof meaning but is caught in a cacoon insulated by money and the dominated of a powerful grandfather. Her intelligence and spunk is atrophying. Her life changes at the hands of kidnappers who deposit her on a lonely island. Through efforts of fending for herself, she becomes the spirited and courageous woman that was always lurking inside. The end of the book bringstogether surprising revelations about her and other characters in the story.
