More about me | Tijana Žunić Marić is an Attorney at Law and Junior Partner at Zunic Law Firm Novi Sad. Tijana’s specialization includes dispute resolution with the focus on commercial arbitration and mediation, intellectual property, competition law, commercial law and human rights. She represents some of the leading national and regional companies. She has recently advised one of the “Big Four” accounting firms from London on their matters in Serbia. Tijana has also developed a strong niche expertise in cutting-edge legal fields, such as IT law. She advises start-ups and established enterprises in the matters of outsourcing, non-disclosure agreements, business sales, intellectual property, investment agreements, complex employment matters and restructuring. She is one of the founders of an IT start-up “iQdemic”. From 2015 Tijana Žunic Marić holds the position of the Secretary of Belgrade Arbitration Center (BAC), a permanent arbitral institution that administers domestic and foreign disputes which is under the auspices of Serbian Arbitration Association. She is also a certified mediator by Serbian Ministry of Justice. Prior to being accepted to Serbian Bar and the Bar of Vojvodina, Tijana acquired expertise in intellectual property and competition law by shadowing some of the prominent English barristers, while working at leading London barristers’ chambers: Brick Court, Monckton Chambers, South Square and Red Lion. She has recently advised some of the major regional companies on the aspects of the abuse of dominance and restrictive agreements. Tijana obtained her Bachelor’s law degree at University of Novi Sad graduating as 1% top of the class and among 100 best students in Serbia, based on which she was presented with the University Excellence Award. She completed LL.M. studies at University of Novi Sad (summa cum laude), University of Luxembourg (cum laude) and University of Cambridge (cum laude). While studying at Cambridge she was a scholar of Cambridge Overseas Trust and Open Society Foundation. As an excellent student, Tijana was also selected as a Pegasus Trust Scholar, a scholarship provided by the Honorable Society of Inner Temple, Bar of England and Wales. During her education, Tijana participated at numerous competitions in law, such as Regional Human Rights Moot Court Competition before the European Court of Human Rights (EctHR) and Moot Court National Competition in International Humanitarian Law. She was also a member of the team representing Serbia in a case before the ECtHR. Tijana is an author of several legal articles, some of which have been presented at the Council of the EU in Brussels. Alongside practicing law, she has been working as a teaching assistant at the University Business Academy Novi Sad. She is a frequent speaker and moderator at various domestic and international conferences and a regular contributor to World Bank projects concerning Serbia. Tijana speaks Serbian (native), English and French. |
