More about me | Steve Jumes has been and is Certified in Criminal Law by the State of Texas Board of Legal Specialization since 2003. Before becoming a defense practitioner, he was supervisor of the Grand Jury Division of the Tarrant County District Attorney's Office as well as specialized in the prosecution of sexual and physical child abuse cases for that office. While working as a a prosecutor for the Dallas County District Attorney's Office he specialized in Public Integrity prosecutions. Additionally, while working for the United States Attorney's Office in the Northern District of Texas he handled white collar cases involving tax refund fraud, wire fraud, money laundering, as well as bank robbery, and mail fraud. He also specialized in criminal and civil asset forfeiture in that office. Since 2013 he began private practice providing criminal and asset forfeiture defense in cases ranging from DWI, murder, healthcare fraud, theft, conspiracy to possess or distribute drugs, and continuous assault of a child. He has been asked to make presentations for the Texas State Bar, the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers' Association, and the Tarrant County Criminal Defense Lawyers' Association. He has made numerous television, radio, and print appearances regarding asset forfeiture including the Fort Worth Star Telegram, Dallas Morning News, WFAA -ABC news, KXTX-NBC news, KERA, and McCuistion TV. He also testified before subcommittees of the Texas State House and Senate regarding asset forfeiture. |
