| More about me | Iftikhar Ahsan has completed his Master’s in Pharmaceutical Sciences with a specialization in Medicinal Chemistry (M.Pharm). He has also completed P.G. Diploma IPR Law and is a Registered Indian Patent Agent specializing in Pharmaceutical Technology, Process Chemistry, API and New Chemical Entity. He had started his career as a patent associate with K&S Partners a reputed law firm in New Delhi. His job profile included pharmaceutical patent prosecution, handling of prosecution matters at patent offices, analyzing the First Examination Report, advising clients on legal and technical matters, drafting complete specifications etc. After serving for more than a year at K&S Partners Iftikhar moved on to join Teva Pharmaceuticals, world’s largest generic pharma company and worked as a Senior Officer in the IPM department. During his tenure with Teva, Iftikhar has worked on synthetic process development strategies and suggested one novel route for synthesis of API. He has worked on preparation of technology landscapes for almost 25 pharmaceutical compounds including several pre-registered molecules. He has also drafted process patent application for Teva API India. His practice also covered infringement analysis, third party landscape, communicating with in-house scientists, patent watch on various opposition matters running in India and search on various data base's including structure based search in SciFinder. At present, Iftikhar is in legal outsourcing industry and working as a Senior IP Analyst with Bioxcel corporation, a US based company, his job responsibility includes outsourcing business development in the domain of structure based search using STN portal, FTO analysis, US office action analysis, technology landscape, licensing and competitive intelligence etc. |
