More about me | David M. Schwadron joined Youman & Caputo, LLC as a trial attorney in November 2017. Schwadron is a veteran trial lawyer, who first started litigating catastrophic injury cases more than 20 years ago. He has tried cases to successful verdicts in courtrooms in every county in New Jersey and in most counties in southeastern and central Pennsylvania, and he has been instrumental in obtaining a number of substantial settlements for his catastrophic injury clients. In his more than twenty years as a trial attorney, Schwadron has tried more than 150 cases to verdict, as either first or second chair. He has extensive experience as both a plaintiff and defense attorney in all aspects of medical malpractice litigation, including case investigation and development, fact and expert depositions and discovery, settlement negotiations, trial preparation, jury trials and in defending his verdicts on appeal. Schwadron has handled virtually every type of medical malpractice claim, including claims involving birth injuries, spinal cord injuries, emergency room negligence, surgical negligence, and delay in diagnosis of cancer and other conditions. He has even worked for a time as a trial attorney for a major insurance company. This wealth and diverse range of experience gives Schwadron a unique and invaluable perspective in working with Andy Youman and Dave Caputo in representing the firm’s catastrophic injury clients. Biography Schwadron spent most of the first thirteen years of his career as a medical malpractice defense lawyer. He worked for several of Philadelphia’s most well-regarded defense firms, and he was ultimately named a shareholder and partner in the medical malpractice group of one of those firms. In those thirteen years, Schwadron was involved in numerous trials and arbitrations, as both first and second chair, throughout southeastern and central Pennsylvania and New Jersey. In 2008, Schwadron changed his professional focus to representing seriously injured individuals and their families. He joined a successful small plaintiff’s firm, which handled serious medical malpractice and other personal injury matters. As a senior trial attorney, Schwadron continued to handle significant jury trial matters, both as first and second chair. When that firm’s principal retired in 2014, Schwadron continued his career as a trial attorney, working next for an insurance company and then for another plaintiff’s firm handling personal injury matters before joining Youman & Caputo, LLC in November 2017. Schwadron graduated from Franklin & Marshall in 1991 with a major in Biological Anthropology and Psychology, and he earned his J.D. from Widener University School of Law in 1995. Schwadron was born and raised in central New Jersey. He lives in Wynnewood, PA with his two sons. His interests outside of his family and the law include Japanese martial arts; he is a second-degree black belt in Aikido. |
