Is Columbia worth the money?

    Hi guys,

I have recently been admitted at Columbia for an LLM in international law. I am thrilled and excited just to think about it, but I am not sure I should go since I would have to get a private loan to cover everything (I received no scholarships and have no rich and old relatives who wish to share!) and considering my previous study debts...

I am not American, I'm Canadian, so I'm not sure of what additional career opportunities this LLM will bring me back home. Is it really easy to find a job to repay all the costs afterwards if Im ready to stay in NYC (or the US)?

Plus, I will not be a corporate lawyer, I am interested by human rights.

Should I ask to defer and work for a year? Is money a good reason for deferral requests?

    Thanks!
