Mar 16 2010, 10:08 AMAnyone have an idea of where they want to live in Philly? I'm sceptical towards Sansom, can't find any recent reviews, and the warning on the admitted pages is concerning.

Mar 16 2010, 12:30 PMI feel the same way about "sansom".. i'm looking for an apartment buliding in the university city area.
The admitted student page says that many graduate student live in the city center area so I think i'll consider it although i'm afraid it might be too far (I mean it seems that you cant exactly walk to campus from there)...
and its kind of hard to to make a choice now since we'r not actualy there and its always best to view the property ur self before booking it..
i'll let you know if I find anything worth looking it and I hope to hear from you as well

Mar 16 2010, 01:37 PMIt's a deal Shatha, I feel the same way, living in city centre might be nice, but it seems a bit far away, and I don't want to sit in an apartment downtown with no one around to talk to. International house seems ok, but maybe a bit to dorm-like for me:)

Mar 16 2010, 02:53 PMI'm living in a building called 2400 chestnut. Has excellent reviews and is located in city center but just 6 blocks away from the law school (about 10 min walking) and it also has a shuttle to take you to classes. I really recommend that one.

Mar 22 2010, 03:41 PMChestnut looks nice, I'm going to apply, anyone want to share a 2br? It's unfurnished right? Isn't it a hassle to buy lots of furniture just for a year?[Edited Mar 22 2010]

Mar 22 2010, 05:10 PMIt is unfurnished but they allow you to also rent your furniture for the 10 months. They have different packages and prices. Im already set in the 7th floor! I think its early enough to find availability.
Write to this woman, her name is Mary Jane. She helped me a lot. [email protected]

Mar 29 2010, 06:13 PMHi guys, I am also joining Penn next year. I mailed a current LL.M student about housing and this is what he replied:
As for housing, we live in center city (Rittenhouse square) and we love it. Other students live on campus, and I think they like it. However, I would recommend you to be in city rather than on campus. All parties, bars and restaurants are around Rittenhouse square and people from the campus tend to come less to the center city because it's "too far". Very often we notice thant city center is very convenient! We love it. There are different kind of apartments available. In houses or condominium buildings.
Is anyone looking for a room mate?

Mar 30 2010, 12:27 AMI might be looking for a roomate. 2400 Chestnut is kind of between Rittenhouse sq. and University City, so might be nice, not to far to walk stumbling home after a night out. Did the guy you talked to give any specific recommendations on buildings at Rittenh. sq?
