Feb 11 2010, 02:35 PMNormally a first class degree from your previous law school. If you need to know the exact condition immediately, you might want to contact Mrs Wade.

Feb 16 2010, 04:00 PMI did contact her and sent her an e- mail - but she hasn't replied yet (for quite a couple of days). Besides, do you know if there's anything that I can do if it's just mathematically impossible for me to get a first class? Will they be willing to change the condition to a second upper?

Feb 17 2010, 07:26 AMHey guys, I know that this happened before and people just wrote her an email and told her that it is mathematically impossible. The professors then reconsidered the case and it worked out. However, I would also say that generally you have to have a first, but that is also very difficult to asses if you come from another country. It's just really really hard to convert grades into the UK system.
Maybe we should all relax a little more. There is a reason why the chose us in the first place right?! So maybe it will not be all daunting and they ae not as strict.

Feb 18 2010, 08:14 AMI guess another good point to convince the degree committee should be the overall rank in your class. If you didn't achieve the condition, but rank let's say no. 1-5 at your university, then I suppose it would be a good idea to get your rank from your examinations office as soon as you have finished your studies and submit it to Cambridge.[Edited Feb 18 2010]

Mar 23 2010, 09:37 PMHi there everybody! I also haven't received an official conditional offer letter yet; however, I was given a conditional offer last year, but then I requested for one-year deferral and Cambridge granted it to me. Since I was still a student while applying for Cambridge LL.M., my academic condition had two parts: the first one was to graduate in June 2009 and the second one was acquiring an overall grade point 1,3 or better (1.00 or A - being the best mark you can get here in Slovakia). Fortunately, I met both these criteria and I hope I'll meet all of you in Cambridge this year :-). Jan
