Registering and Enrolling for Classes

Aug 28 2009, 03:58 PMHi All,
As anyone had any success in registering and enrolling for classes on the ULCN website? I logged in using the username and password given to me on the first day; it allowed me to see the ULCN website, but it did not allow me to access UMail, UTwist, or Blackboard. It also did not allow me to register or enroll for any classes. Has any experienced a similar phenomena, or am I simply retarded?
Thanks,
John

Aug 28 2009, 04:11 PMHi John,
On Tuesday I had an access to all these services. At present Utwist definitely has some problems, maybe they just update some web site functions.
And yes, there is no yet any information on courses.

Aug 28 2009, 04:14 PMThanks, Tatiana. Ironically enough, I am able to access my first week assignment for Public International Law. Weird :-) But at least I'll be ready (hopefully) for my first class on Wednesday.
Thanks again for the response.

Aug 29 2009, 05:22 PMHey John,
You are in PIL, yes? Here is the thing. UTwist is screwed up, so instead of "courses" we are supposed to register for "working groups". Except everyone wants to do the International Relations elective instead of European Union Law and there are limited places, so they have starting a bit of a screening process to decide who to let in the course. This is supposed to be determined on Tuesday at the PIL intro meeting, so I am pretty sure that they have locked the system until then and it keeps giving everyone an error message... Hence why the available spaces don't seem to be filling up.
I am not sure why we are not able to register for PIL as well, since we all have to do it anyway, so I am planning to go to the faculty on Monday morning to ask.
If you are hoping to do the International Relations elective, I would recommend you go to the faculty first thing Monday as well. Last week they took a list of names of people interested in the course and asked them to indicate whether they had studied EU law before (if not, have to do EU law elective). They also took down everyone's email addresses so I am assuming there will be some sort of email going out to the people interested (if there hasn't been one already).
You have to register on Blackboard separately, which you seem to have done, but Blackboard registration is not equivalent to enrolment.
I am assuming this will all be sorted on Tuesday.
