Apr 23 2009, 12:34 PMHas anyone else received that email from Mrs.Leisa Wilson through lawyrs.net? I am not very familiar with this website (lawyrs.net) and, had it not been for this Georgetown group, I probably would not have registered. Regardless, allow me to recommend extreme caution when dealing with such emails.

Apr 23 2009, 01:43 PMa private message thru lawyrs.net
I didnt read it precisely, but it looks like the usual kind of spams one can get once in a while, someone threatened and/or in danger, with a huge amount of USD on a secret bank account, and willing to give u all that money in exchange of some help (it really aims at collecting your bank account info or smtg...) it's pretty annoying to receive this sort of messages here.

Apr 23 2009, 03:06 PMArnaud, I recommend staying near GULC or on the Metro red line. Although the Metro in DC is efficient, it's still faster and easier to stay on the red line. GULC is between the Judiciary Square and Union Station Metro stops, but is closer to Judiciary Square. DC can get VERY hot and humid in the summer, and so apartments near the Metro stations command higher rent.
Here is the URL for the Metro map:

A couple notes:
-- Anacostia is supposed to be the most dangerous part of DC. Avoid it.
-- Dupont Circle has a large homosexual population. It's a nice place and a busy area.
-- Foggy Bottom/Georgetown areas are posh. Lots of restaurants. On the orange/blue lines.
-- The suburbs like Bethesda and Silver Spring are very suburban. Good places if you have kids.
-- Chinatown looks like it's a fun, busy area. Lots of restaurants. It's just north west of GULC.
-- Alexandria (yellow/blue, King St stop) is historic and nice, but is 45 minutes by Metro to GULC.

May 18 2009, 05:53 PMHi All,
Just wanted to introduce myself to the group. I will be attending G-town Sec&Fin Reg program in the fall. I’m currently working as an associate in NYC. I look forward to meeting all of you in August. Vadim
