Sep 25 2008, 02:33 PMIn today's online edition of Reuters, there is an article entitled, "European M&A to Boom as Crunch Bites": http://www.reuters.com/article/innovationNews/idUSTRE48O4GP2...
The premise of the article is that there will be an M&S boom fueled by companies trying to forestall potential financial problems. Do you agree? If so, do you think this will be a global trend or just limited to Europe?

Sep 25 2008, 07:21 PMGoldman Sachs(!) says on Aug. 22, 2008:
...the recent outbreak of M&A activity in Europe, with 33 deals in the last month, is a significant turning point for the market. "The market is on a 23-year P/E low and 30%-35% of stocks in our coverage are trading on single-digit P/Es for 2009, on estimates that are below consensus. Either the market is pricing in a 1970s period of low growth and high inflation, or it has become relatively more attractive," the brokerage said.

Sep 26 2008, 01:51 PMI read the article on the poor state of real estate M&A in Europe yesterday as well. However, the two articles do not seem to be inconsistent with one another. Interesting times.
