I'm about to add dozens of lawyers to my group. I'd like to know the following first:

    1. Is lawyrs.net doing well enough in beta that I can expect it to remain viable as a networking site for my group of lawyers?

    2. How can I delete a group I started and no longer want?

    3. How can I delete a post I created in a group?

    4. Can settings permit my members to receive an email when a post is responded to, as well as when a new post is created?

Thanks! I hope this works out.

    Dear Rod,

Thanks a lot for you questions and useful suggestions!

    > Is lawyrs.net doing well enough in beta that I can expect it to remain viable as a networking site for my group of lawyers?

Yes, we are expecting to finish the beta test of lawyrs.net and officially launch the website this summer. Despite the fact that users still need an invitation to sign up for lawyrs.net, more than thousand lawyers from more than hundred countries have already joined so far and the number of new members is increasing every week. Thus, we are confident that lawyrs.net will become a success in the legal community.

    > How can I delete a group I started and no longer want?

As suggested, I will add a button “Delete this group”, which allows the group founder to delete the group as long as no one else has posted messages in this group.

I also will add a new function for the group founder, which generally enables him to “close” a group to the effect that no new users can join the group and existing members can not post new messages anymore.

If the founder wants to make the group disappear from the public group search, he/she can click on “Edit group” (on the group main page), select the option “Private hidden group” and finally click on the button “Update group”. If you choose this option, new members can only sign up to this group by invitation.

    > How can I delete a post I created in a group?

Every user can delete his/her own messages in any group by editing them. There is an edit button on the right side of every (own) post.

    > Can settings permit my members to receive an email when a post is responded to, as well as when a new post is created?

Currently, the default setting is that users will receive a notification by email if there is a new post in one of their groups. As long as they do not log into lawyrs.net after receiving this notification, they will not receive another notification if a new message is posted in the same thread of that group. You can turn off email notifications in your settings (www.lawyrs.net/settings). Do you think there should be more options?

If you have additional comments or any other suggestions, please post them here!

Looking forward to see more of you on lawyrs.net, kind regards,

    Hannes

    Thanks, Hannes!

I have tried to delete my posts by going to the edit function, but did not see a delete option, just an edit option. I will trying again.

I would love to see an option to receive an email every time a post is responded to, not just a new post.

    Take care, Hannes.

    > I have tried to delete my posts by going to the edit function, but did not see a delete option, just an edit option. I will trying again.

You are right, you can currently only delete a post by editing it in way that all text is erased. I think it's a good idea to add a "delete" button to make things simpler.

    > I would love to see an option to receive an email every time a post is responded to, not just a new post.

That is actually how it works now: You will receive an email notification every time someone responds to your message or posts a new message in the group (not just when someone opens a new topic in your group).

The only limitation is that if you do not log into lawyrs.net after you have received such a notification, no further notifications will be sent about new messages in this specific group. I think this is important to prevent flooding our users' mailboxes with notifications.

Please let me know whether I understood your last point right!

Yes, that's great my group will get an email when a response is made to a post as well as when a new post is made.

Are you going to delete my group that says "DELETE"? I can see how to do that with the edit key.
