Feb 06 2008, 09:40 AMHi Maria,
Actually, I am still waiting for a reference letter by my professor (...), so I could not send my application yet. I was just curious if they already admit students. The official deadline is in June, but I guess the earlier, the better your chances... I plan to enroll in the European Private Law program. What about you?
Do you think I should already apply without the recommendation letter and tell them that I will hand that in later? On the website it does not say anything about whether a reference is necessary. However, according to the application form, it looks like you are supposed to hand in at least one reference. Did you send one?

Feb 06 2008, 09:50 AMHi Christopher,
Yes indeed you need a reference letter and I have sent one with my application. I believe they admit students on a rolling basis, so yes I guess the sooner the better. As regarding the fact your application docs are not complete don't know what to tell you, sure you can send them what you have by now but I guess they shall consider over your application once it's complete. On the other hand depending on how busy they are, the Admission Commettee might look over it and just wait for the reference as to come with a final decision. My advise is to post your question to the person in charge for all international prospective students (there are contacts on the website, I believe his name was Mr. Vries) and you shall shortly receive an answer on your issue.
As for the programme I have chosen - it is European and International law with focus on Trade and Investment law.
Wish you luck with your application, do not hesitate to ask for all you are interested in.

Feb 06 2008, 10:03 AMThanks Maria, I think you are right. I will try to push my professor, as I need the reference for other applications as well. If I don't get it soon, I will talk to Mr. Vries.
BTW: Congratulations to your admission! Amsterdam is a great place. Hope to meet you all in fall!
